Good technique is physical efficiency: the process of learning how to minimize and release tension, move both hands precisely, and stop fighting the instrument. Master the process, and you can tackle any technique you want, in any style you want.
What to expect
For beginners and experienced players alike:
You don’t need to know how to play when you walk in, but you do need to be ready to practice when you leave. A weekly lesson gives you the roadmap, but daily practice and explicitly defining and working towards your musical goal is what transforms your skills.
Lesson Structure
Weekly, one-hour lessons are held at my dedicated studio space in East Austin (78702)—quiet, distraction-free, and set up entirely for focused practice.
Prefer to stay home? We can run sessions online via Zoom or FaceTime. If you want in-person lessons but can't make it out to the East Side, I also travel to your location for an additional rate.

I’m Lucas Carballeira—a classically trained guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with a Master of Music from the University of Arizona. I’ve spent years analyzing music theory and the physical mechanics of the instrument so you don't have to guess your way through practice.
